ARCHDIOCESE OF HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT

Archbishop Leonard P. Blair of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut, should immediately release to the public the canon law secret files of Fr. Adolphe Renkiewicz, a credibly accused child sexual abuser of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut.  The release of the secret files must be done so the childhood clergy sexual victim/survivors can try to heal and gain a degree of closure.

During his 59 years as a priest of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Father Adolphe Renkiewicz was assigned to several parishes, Holy Family Monastery while on leave, and the Felician Sisters’ Motherhouse where he was restricted exclusively to practicing his priesthood.  His file must be released immediately to the public so that victims can try to heal and the public is aware that they must watch their children carefully while in the presence of priests.

Archbishop Blair’s video appearance in 2019 promised three things:  the publication of the names of credibly accused priests from 1953 to the present; the hiring of an independent reviewer, paid by the Archdiocese of Hartford, to investigate all allegations of childhood sexual abuse from 1953; and the release of the financial outlay regarding the sexual abuse of minors and the sources of those finances.

What Archbishop Blair does not admit is that these steps controlled by the Archdiocese of Hartford are not adequate.  Archbishop Blair must release the secret file of Fr. Adolphe Renkiewicz and of all other priests immediately to the public

What and Why

A press conference and demonstration calling on Archbishop Leonard P. Blair to release immediately the secret files of every Archdiocesan bishop, priest, religious priest, deacon, religious order priest, brother, nun, and lay person so the truth about sexual abuse by those personnel might be made known.  Victim/survivors deserve to know the histories of their abusers as do parishioners and the general public.
