The New York Archdiocese was morally bankrupt long before any court deemed it solely liable for settling claims of thousands of innocent clergy sexual abuse victims.  It had hidden behind insurance companies for decades.

Apr 27, 2024 | 0

It is time for Cardinal Dolan to stop hiding the Archdiocese of New York’s assets in various accounts as he did in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee when he moved $53 million set aside for clergy sexual abuse victims into a cemetery fund.

The Archdiocese of New York is enormously wealthy and can well afford to settle claims of clergy sexual abuse fairly, justly, and in a timely manner

WHAT

A demonstration and press conference calling on the Archdiocese of New York to fairly and justly settle claims of clergy sexual abuse by tapping into its vast wealth.  An appeal will be made to Cardinal Dolan that he NOT hide funds from innocent clergy abuse victims as he did in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

WHEN

Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 9:00 am until Noon – Press conference at 11:00 am

WHERE
On the public sidewalk in front of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Fifth Avenue, New York

WHO

Robert M. Hoatson, Ph.D., a survivor of clergy sexual abuse in the Archdiocese of Newark as a young religious brother.  He was told by the Archdiocese of New York in the early 2000’s that it was going to send his perpetrator priest for counseling while refusing to help Robert Hoatson with counseling or settlement because “You should have known better.”  Dr. Hoatson is co-founder and President of Road to Recovery, Inc., a non-profit charity based in New Jersey that assists victims of sexual abuse. He is a former Irish Christian Brother (sexually abused by three men in the religious life) of 23 years, and a Newark Archdiocesan priest for 14 years before he was fired by Archbishop John J. Myers for helping clergy sexual abuse victims (roberthoatson@gmail.com)

Since it has been established that Fr. Stephen Kilcarr is a credibly accused pedophile, why is it that the childhood sexual abuse claim of Dr. Robert M. Hoatson against Fr. Kilcarr is being denied?
