WHY IS THE DIOCESE OF ROCKVILLE CENTRE’S LIST OF CREDIBLY ACCUSED PRIESTS AND DEACONS BEING HIDDEN?

It is crucial that the Catholic Church and its Archdioceses and Dioceses be fully transparent about allegations of clergy sexual abuse in order to help keep children, teenagers, and vulnerable adults safe.

However, full transparency is not and never has been the practice of the Catholic Church, and the Diocese of Rockville Centre proves the point once again when it finally recently released a partial list of clergymen who allegedly sexually abused minor children but did not include clergymen, like Bishop John McGann, who have multiple allegations of sexual abuse of minor children against them.

The Rockville Centre Diocese is deliberately being deceptive and evasive since ordinary Catholics, victims, and average citizens cannot easily access the list of over one hundred abusive clergymen on its website.  In fact, the list may not even be on the website of the diocese currently.
