WAS FR. MASLAR GIVEN FACULTIES TO SERVE AS A PRIEST BY BISHOP FISHER OF THE BUFFALO DIOCESE?

CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE TEENAGERS AND ADULTS WERE PLACED AT RISK IN ATHOL SPRINGS, NEW YORK AND BEYOND.

Fr. George Maslar, OFM, Conv., who was credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor girl while assigned to Kolbe High School in the Bridgeport, CT, Diocese, was listed until January 16, 2022, as a member of the friary of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Athol Springs, New York

At least 8 times during his priesthood, Fr. George Maslar, OFM Conv. was “Not Indexed,” which often means that a priest was sent by his supervisors for treatment for some reason.  From 1979-1981, he was “Not Indexed.”  In 1984, he was “Not Indexed.”  In 1993, he was “Not Indexed.”  In 1996, he was “Not Indexed.”  From 2000-2001, he was “Not Indexed.”  In 2019, he was “Not Indexed,” and his status in 2020 is “Undetermined” 

 A courageous woman came forth on February 23, 2022 to speak about her childhood sexual abuse by Fr. Maslar as described above and the high five-figure settlement she received from the Conventual Franciscans.  She is represented by Attorney Mitchell Garabedian of Boston, MA who will appear by Zoom.  Please see the attached invitation for Zoom.
