The settlement offer of $800 million for victims of clergy sexual abuse by Archbishop of New York, Ronald Hicks, is beyond about time, but it took him only two months to do what his predecessor refused to do for 16 years.

May 3, 2026 | 0

Clergy sexual abuse victims should be uplifted knowing that the Archdiocese of New York and its clergy will finally be held accountable, at least financially, for hundreds of years of abuse, cover-up, obfuscation, and arrogance toward them.

Although many will benefit from the Archdiocese of New York settlement offer, we must remember those who passed on while awaiting their turn for justice and healing.
