In July, 2022, a civil lawsuit was filed in Bristol County, MA, on behalf of John Doe, who alleged that he was sexually abused from approximately 1988-1989 when he was approximately 12 and 13 years of age in Massachusetts and Maine by Fall River priest Richard DeGagne when Fr. DeGagne was assigned to St. Anthony of Padua Parish in New Bedford, MA.
