After many of years of being sexually abused and stalked by a member of the Roman Catholic clergy, my children and I gave away all of our possessions and disappeared into a jungle off the Mainland to get away from this priest. We lived in poverty and fear. Because all efforts to obtain legal help had failed, and one of my children nearly died because of his abuse, this radical action became necessary. Then Fr. Bob Hoatson came into our lives, and hope began to grow in us. He immediately called the police and reported the stalking. He then called the abuser and warned him that the authorities were called and that he would be advocating for us. Over time Bob helped us to get legal representation, have therapy, obtain a place to live, and get the abuser removed from his illustrious position. Were it not for Fr. Bob Hoatson and his organization our story would likely have had a very different outcome. His advocacy and unwavering support enabled us to believe that we would obtain justice, have a chance to heal, and once again know hope and happiness. While we are still in the process of obtaining justice and healing, we can all testify that not once has Fr. Hoatson every failed to be there when needed.
